The start of next week won't be just another manic Monday--or at least it won't be if you decide to hit up one of the McDonald's restaurants participating in the first ever National Breakfast Day. Almost 300 McDonald's restaurants around the country will be giving away up to 1,000 free Egg or Sausage McMuffins between 5:00 AM and 9:00 AM on March 18, 2013.
How it works: McDonald's employees will be stationed outside restaurant entrances (including drive-thrus) to hand out coupons for a free McMuffin--with no purchase necessary. These will be given out until 9:00 AM or until supplies last.
Want to get your hands on a free McMuffin? Here are three things you should know:
You snooze, you lose. McDonald's employees will start giving away coupons at 5:00 AM (or 7:30 AM for participating mall branches) on a first-come-first-served basis, and they'll stop when they run out or the clock strikes 9:00 AM--which ever comes first. So just because you're able to hit your favorite McDonald's branch before 9:00 doesn't mean there'll be any coupons left for you if you don't hop to it come Monday morning.
You can't rely on your buddies. Only one coupon will be given per customer, so you can't ask a friend to pick up an extra McMuffin for you (unless he or she is willing to go without). For drive-thru customers, McDonald's employees will be counting the number of people in each car, and the number of coupons they give you will correspond with their headcount.
- Not all McDonald's restaurants will be participating. All McDonald's branches that serve breakfast will be handing out McMuffins on National Breakfast Day, but remember that not all branches are open for breakfast. McDonald's will be opening specific in-mall branches for the promo at 7:30 AM, but these branches will have only 500 coupons to give out. Branches that will be opening at 7:30 AM include: 168 Mall, Harrison Plaza, Robinsons Galleria, SM Manila, SM Megamall, SM Muntinlupa, and SM Sta. Mesa.
